As part of our yearly effort to raise funds for local and Greek charitable organisations, the Hellenic Society of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (known also as Hellenic Society of Malaysia) has collected the amount of RM 6000 . The money were collected from the tickets of the Late Spring Party on 24th of May organized jointly between the  Hellenic Society of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Greek Community "Hellenic Society of Malaysia" and the German Speaking Society of Kuala Lumpur (GSSKL).
The funds collected were donated to the Home Young to Adult (Y2A)  organisation in Batu Caves -Selayang area and to the Emfasis Foundation of Athens in support of their charity activities.
The cheque presentation ceremony to Y2A took place on Monday 16th of June at the offices of Y2A and present were the President of the Hellenic Society , the President  and the treasurer of the GSSKL and the director of Y2A Mr. Michael Sebastian.
The cheque to the Emfasis Foundation was transfered to their Bank account.

 Party for Charity in Kuala Lumpur  to support Emfasis Street social workers Foundation in Athens

Dear compatriots and friends philhellenes,
The Hellenic Society in Kuala Lumpur  jointly with the German Speaking Society in Kuala Lumpur (GSSKL) organised a party for  Charity on Saturday 24th of May. The party  was a great success and the seventy (70) participants  had the unique opportunity to enjoy Greek and German home made traditional dishes and a good variety of Greek wines , beers and ouzo.
The high light of the night was the live performance of  a duo violin soloists Brian Larson and his wife Toko who played for us a variety of romantic classic songs. Polychronis  syrtaki dancing had an enthusiastic reception by everybody and followed by syrtaki lessons.  Please refer to the attached photos.
The collected money will be donated to the following Charity organisations:
1. EMFASIS , Social Street Workers Foundation , Athens -Greece.
2. Y2A, Young to Adult (2gether Making A Difference thru Meaningful Experience) a nonprofit NGO in Malaysia,

Our intention is to organise similar events with other expatriate and Malaysian societies and associations in Kuala Lumpur aiming to promote Greece and to spread our culture as much as we can.

Dear compatriots and friends philhellenes,

For the fourth consecutive year the Hellenic Society in Kuala Lumpur participated in the event Tastes of Europe organised by the EUMCCI.

The event is annual and this year took place at the Royal Chulan Hotel on Friday 16/5/2014.

The aim of the participation is to promote various Greek quality traditional products to the Malaysian market and also trying to find local importers who may interested to import and distribute Greek products. At the same time this is an excellent opportunity to promote Greece , tourism and culture to the Malaysian people as well as to the large expat community of Kuala Lumpur.

 The samples were offered  for  free tasting and this year had been sent from following companies (free of charge): Alpha Estate, MYLONAS WINERY - ΜΥΛΩΝΑΣ ΜΙΚΡΟΟΙΝΟΠΟΙΪΑ, Kir Yianni winery, Ouzo Plomari, Tsililis tsipouro, Feta cheese from 3 different producers, Olives , Anthemous tsipouro, honey, marmelades from Chalkidiki etc.
